The village

Lucignano, known as the Pearl of the Val di Chiana, is a small village surrounded by its medieval walls that represents one of the more extraordinary examples of medieval urban planning for its system of elliptic rings arrived intact over the centuries. Lucignano features long standing feasts and traditions, such as the flower's feast of May, the Maggiolata, taken in the last two sundays of May, and the fair of the antique Arts and Crafts, taken the last weekend of September.
